Things You'll Need
Soft cloth or rag
Quarter
RFA-67 battery
Totally invisible and safe, the PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System and the RFA-67 collar keep your pet within the boundaries of an electronic fence. The RFA-67 collar, also known as the "Receiver Collar," contains a battery in its front. No special tool is required to open the collar and change the battery, but you must remove the collar from your pet first.
Remove the PetSafe collar from your pet by squeezing the two plastic clips on the side of the collar inward.
Wipe the front of the collar with a soft cloth or rag. This will remove any debris from around the battery housing.
Insert a quarter into the slot on the front of the battery housing.
Turn the battery housing counter-clockwise to remove it. Place the old battery housing to the side.
Insert the new RFA-67 battery housing into the PetSafe collar.
Insert a quarter into the slot on the front of the battery housing. Turn it clockwise until the arrow on the battery housing and the triangle on the collar line up. The battery housing is now locked into place.
Tips
Dispose of the old battery housing properly, at a recycling center or other battery drop-off location.
