Mice are a cute and fairly low maintenance pet, good for beginners and experienced rodent enthusiasts alike. Because they are omnivores, they need a varied diet. Typically you will want to include pellets intended for mice and rats to ensure that they have some protein in their diet, as well as supplementary fruits and vegetables.
Green Goodness in Moderation
There are a number of different types of fresh veggies and greens to add into the diet of your pet mouse, when fed in small quantities. Leafy greens such as bok choy, parsley, broccoli, spinach and lettuce are good as occasional treats, but overfeeding these types of greens can result in diarrhea, which may cause dehydration that could risk your pet's life.
