What Is Canine Red Cell Supplement Used For?

| Updated September 26, 2017

If your working dog needs a little "boost," Canine Red Cell supplement can give it to him. Manufactured by Farnam, this liquid supplement tastes like beef liver and is quite palatable. While it's often given to canines with jobs for extra energy -- such as herding, hunting and field dogs -- it also benefits older dogs. Canine Red Cell is available over the counter, but ask your vet whether or not it's a suitable supplement for your dog.

It can help debilitated canines, especially those requiring iron supplementation or general immune system support. Do not give Canine Red Cell to animals already receiving vitamin and mineral supplements.

Feeding Canine Red Cell

Canine Red Cell can be fed directly to dogs or mixed with food. While Canine Red Cell can aid dogs in various ways, it's not a substitute for feeding a high-quality, age-appropriate dog food.
